Shelton High School Participates In The Great Give 2015

Shelton High School and the Valley Community Foundation (VCF) forged a new partnership this year and established the Shelton High School Education Fund.

The management of all scholarship and award funds was entrusted to the Foundation. The purpose of this partnership is to sustain and build a substantial scholarship and recognition program benefiting the students of Shelton High School in acknowledgement of their hard work and accomplishments as they move on to pursue higher education.

Dr. Beth A. Smith, headmaster of Shelton High School, stated, I value celebrating student achievement, and it is my firm belief that this partnership will achieve my goal of sustainability for our awards programs, which will continue to benefit the students of Shelton High School for years to come.”

Dr. Smith is excited to communicate that the Shelton High School Education Fund is participating in Valley Community Foundation Great Give, the premier online giving event for nonprofits in the Greater New Haven region.

For 36 hours, starting May 5, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on May 6, charitable donations will make Shelton High School eligible for thousands of dollars in grant prizes when donations are made to the Shelton High School Education Fund through giveGreater.org.

Anyone wishing to support SHS, may visit www.giveGreater.org or www.TheGreatGive.org any time during the 36-hour giving drive, search for the Shelton High School Education Fund” and click Donate Now.”

No donation is too small. The SHS Education Fund will be competing for various matching prizes, including most money raised, greatest number of individual donors and greatest number of new donors. Donations will in achieving the goal of the SHS Education Fund, sustainability of scholarship and awards for SHS students.
