Did you know that students with involved parents, no matter their income or background, are more likely to: 1. Earn higher grades and test scores, 2. Attend school regularly 3. Have better social skills/show improved behavior, and 4. Graduate and go on to post-secondary education?
When parents get involved, students benefit. Join the Shelton High School Parent Teacher Student Organization today to stay informed and help your student succeed.
The PTSO helps benefit our students, parents and teachers in so many ways by sponsoring Freshman Orientation (including free t‑shirts to incoming students), Back to School Night (This Tuesday, October 3rd), College Essay Writing Workshop, 8th Grade Open House; SHS Science Fair; cultural arts programs, community events and numerous other school activities such as the College Fair and of course our famous Post Prom!
Don’t forget about our ‘coffee chats’ with our very own Headmaster, Dr. Beth Smith for “Cocoa with the Headmaster”, “Cannoli’s with the Headmaster” and “Cider with the Headmaster” (Coming up Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.).
Most importantly, the PTSO is the link to your student….and their success. It’s easy to join. Just simply fill out a short membership form and include your membership dues of $10, $25 or $50 payable to SHS PTSO (Additional amounts are always appreciated). Each membership helps us meet our annual budget and is the sole fundraising focus of our organization. Just drop in the membership box in the SHS main lobby.
SHS PTSO Meetings are held in the Media Center. Can’t make a meeting? Simply become a member!
