Shelton High School staff members embraced diversity Friday by donning T‑shirts showing how much they disdain intolerance.
Headmaster Beth Smith said each SHS staff member — teachers, administrators, secretaries, security, tutors, paraprofessionals, custodians, etc. — wore T‑shirts that say “I won’t stand for _________ ” with a word of their choice filling in the blank to indicate what they won’t stand for, related to diversity — e.g. intolerance, disrespect.
At the end of the school day they posed for the picture above.
Rosemary Pagliaro, a member of the staff Diversity Committee, planned the day through an $800 grant from the Valley Community Foundation, Smith said.
