Employees at Serra & DelVecchio Insurance in Shelton, with the help of friends, recently collected and donated more than $2,000 in goods to My Sister’s Place & My Sister’s Attic in Ansonia to support the Center for Domestic Violence Services (a program of BHcare).
They also donated approximately $800 worth of furniture and outdoor items that went to the Ansonia Salvation Army.
A report came in the following day that the sofa was given to a woman who was leaving the Domestic Violence Shelter to go into her first apartment.
In addition to the above, they also collected two large boxes of non-perishable food that will be donated to the Valley Food Bank this week.
Carol Pendagast, Director of HR Services said: “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of our employees, their friends and families when faced with people in need. It’s a wonderful feeling to help people and we will continue to run these collections at Serra & DelVecchio.”
