Shelton Man Accused Of Illegal Hunting

The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) State Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon Police) have arrested a Shelton man on charges of illegal hunting in Shelton.

On February 19, EnCon Police arrested Jose Gouveia, age 51, for an alleged illegal hunting incident after Shelton police heard a gunshot coming from his residence and observed a deer fall behind the residence.

Gouveia was charged with second-degree Reckless Endangerment and third-degree Criminal Negligent Hunting. 

Gouveia is scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Derby on March 4.
