Shelton police arrested a Nichols Avenue man after they said an officer found him with his pants down at Riverview Park.
Police were dispatched to the park about 11 a.m., on Howe Avenue, on a report of a suspicious male in a vehicle.
An officer approached the vehicle in question and noticed a man in the driver’s seat with his pants down.
“The male could not explain why his pants were down or why he was in the area,” a press release issued by Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said.
The officer then arrested the man, Michael Chupick, 63, on a charge of public indecency.
Chupick was released on a written promise to appear at Superior Court in Derby May 1.
“Police responded to a report of a suspicious male in a similar vehicle in the same area yesterday, but were unable to locate the male at that time,” the press release said.
