Shelton Man Faces Sexual Assault Charges

A Shelton man faces sexual assault charges after being arrested Wednesday in connection to an investigation that began last September.

The man, Michael Spease, 46, of Huntington Avenue, was arrested at his home after police obtained a warrant charging him with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and single counts of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

Police did not release details.

The arrest is the result of a lengthy investigation by detectives which began in September 2012,” Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said in a prepared statement. The alleged incidents occurred between 2008 through 2010. The female victim did know Spease.”

Police said Wednesday that Spease was being held on a $100,000 bond.
