Shelton Man Gets 30 Months On Child Pornography Charge

A Shelton man found in possession of hundreds of pictures of child pornography during a raid last March was sentenced in federal court Thursday to 30 months in prison.

U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterson handed down the 30-month sentence to Arthur Galloway, 38, at federal court in New Haven.

Galloway pleaded guilty in January to one count of receipt and distribution of child pornography.

The charge stemmed from a raid by police and federal authorities last March at Galloway’s home, which revealed he possessed 11 printed photographs, 913 images and 45 videos of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct, according to federal prosecutors.

Shelton Police, the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit, and the FBI took part in the raid.

Federal prosecutors said the investigation determined that Galloway traded numerous images and video of child pornography” over the Internet.

After his 30-month prison sentence, Galloway will be on supervised release for 10 years.

The case was investigated by the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit, the Shelton Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Connecticut Child Exploitation Task Force, which includes federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
