Shelton Police Charge Ansonia Teen With Murder

SHELTON — Police charged a 16-year-old Ansonia resident with murder Wednesday in connection to a June shooting that killed a 23-year-old Bridgeport man.

The teen’s name was not released because he is a juvenile. He’s charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Police released no details on how they connected the teen to the shooting, which was reported at about 11:30 p.m. June 12 in the parking lot of the Marriott Residence Inn on Bridgeport Avenue.

The victim, Ivan Whyte, was pronounced dead at the scene.
