SHELTON – Police charged a 19-year-old Trumbull resident with evading responsibility in connection to a fatal hit-and-run on Howe Avenue.
Ariela Treysler was arrested on a warrant on Jan. 25. Police did not explain how investigators linked her to the crime.
On Jan. 6 at about 12:15 a.m., police were sent to the area of Howe Avenue and White Street after receiving a report of a person lying in the road.
The person was identified as Stephanie Peterson, 64. She was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital.
“An investigation by Shelton Detectives and the Accident Reconstruction Team revealed that Peterson was stuck by a vehicle which evaded the scene,” police said in a written statement.
Treysler’s charge is a felony. She posted a $50,000 bond and is due in court on Feb. 16.
