Shelton police said they caught a man who broke into Bricks and Barley on Howe Avenue Thursday morning.
The bar-restaurant’s burglar alarm went off at about 2:30 a.m., Shelton police Detective Richard Bango said in a prepared statement.
The back door was kicked in and cash was stolen from the office.
Police officers searching the area allegedly spotted 23-year-old Alexis Sanchez, of Shelton, running away from the establishment.
“A brief foot chase ensued and Sanchez was caught and arrested,” according to Bango. ​“The cash taken from the business was located nearby.”
Police noted someone broke into Bricks and Barley on June 30. That incident remains under investigation.
Sanchez is charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, interfering with an officer, possession of burglary tools, and sixth-degree larceny.
Bond and court info were not immediately available.
