Shelton police said they caught a man who broke into Bricks and Barley on Howe Avenue Thursday morning.
The bar-restaurant’s burglar alarm went off at about 2:30 a.m., Shelton police Detective Richard Bango said in a prepared statement.
The back door was kicked in and cash was stolen from the office.
Police officers searching the area allegedly spotted 23-year-old Alexis Sanchez, of Shelton, running away from the establishment.
“A brief foot chase ensued and Sanchez was caught and arrested,” according to Bango. “The cash taken from the business was located nearby.”
Police noted someone broke into Bricks and Barley on June 30. That incident remains under investigation.
Sanchez is charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, interfering with an officer, possession of burglary tools, and sixth-degree larceny.
Bond and court info were not immediately available.
