Shelton Police ID Drivers In Howe Avenue Crash

CONTRIBUTED PHOTOShelton police released further details last week about a late-night head-on crash on Howe Avenue May 16 that sent two drivers to the hospital.

The crash occurred about 10:45 p.m., according to an accident report written by Off. Christopher Robak, in the area of 117 Howe Ave.

Greenwich resident Christopher Martinelli, 31, was driving west on Howe Avenue when, Robak’s report says, Martinelli’s car, a 1998 Nissan, apparently crossed the double yellow line and struck a 2009 Dodge driven by Melinda Scott, 34, of Naugatuck.

EMS and Shelton Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.

Both Martinelli and Scott were transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to the report, and no enforcement action has yet been taken.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.
