Shelton Police Seek Suspect In Robbery, Assault

Shelton police are investigating a robbery at Cumberland Farms store at 464 River Road. 

At about 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, an employee opening the store was held up by a man in all dark clothing and with a bandanna covering his face, police said. 

The suspect forced his way into the store, as the employee tried to lock the door. 

He put an object up to the employee’s back and demanded money from the safe. The employee opened the safe and the suspect took an undetermined amount of money out. 

The suspect then brought the employee outside, smashed his head several times on a Dumpster,and then punched him, police said. 

The employee was treated and released from Bridgeport Hospital. 

The male suspect is described as being approximately 40 – 45 years old, 6 feet tall, medium build with dark eyes and olive skin.
