Shelton police are seeking help from the public in identifying a witness to a fatal crash that killed a 17-year-old student early Sunday.
In a prepared statement, Capt. Robert Kozlowsky said the witness went into the Walgreens Pharmacy at 700 Bridgeport Ave. and reported the accident.
“The male is only considered a witness and there is no indication that the male was involved with the crash,” Kozlowsky’s statement said.
Police released photos of the man and his vehicle obtained from surveillance cameras at the store.
Kozlowsky asked anyone with information regarding the man’s identity to call Shelton police at 203 – 924-1544.
The rollover crash occurred about 4:45 a.m. Sunday on Bridgeport Avenue between Crown Point Plaza and Long Hill Cross Road.
The driver of the vehicle, Edmund Conklin, a senior at Shelton High School, was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.
