The Shelton High School Robotics team #230, The Gaelhawks, has registered to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition Connecticut State Championship at Berlin High School on Saturday, May 16.
The team, with its robot, Talon XVI, has competed in the 2015 FRC Challenge ​“Recycle Rush!” throughout the winter season.
This year’s team also qualified for the FRC World Championship in St. Louis and the New England District Championship in Worcester, MA, with New England District wins at competitions in Waterbury, Hartford, and Dartmouth, MA.
The team was also selected as the Hartford, CT Chairman’s Award winning program.

The Gaelhawks are scheduled to compete all day Saturday. Matches are scheduled to begin at 8:30 AM and will continue throughout the day with the tournament rounds beginning at 12:30 PM. Awards will be completed by 5:00 PM. Admission is free and all ages are invited to attend.
The team is supported by the Shelton Board of Education, UTC Sikorsky, OEM Controls, Boeing, ATT Connecticut, Intuitive Surgical, Landmark Transportation, IEEE, Cooper Surgical, and Ametek/Hayden Kirk.
