Shelton High School student Kenneth Giangregorio recently received a Public Service Award from Secretary of State Denise Merrill.
On June 5, Giangregorio, a senior at Shelton High School, was removed from the first graduation practice to greet Secretary of State Denise Merrill.
Merrill came to Shelton High School to recognize Kenneth with a Public Service Award.
She read a proclamation which stated:
“In recognition of the positive impact you have made in your community and your contribution to Connecticut’s future. You have been a positive role model to your peers and neighbors. Your leadership and dedication is an inspiration to us all.”
The proclamation was accompanied by a monetary scholarship.
In attendance at the presentation were Mayor Mark Lauretti, Headmaster Dr. Beth Smith, Housemaster Steven Swensen, Guidance Director Cindy Brouillette and Ken’s school counselor Daria Ploski. In addition Ken’s parents, Cheryl and Kenneth, and his sister, Kaitlyn, were present.
