Shelton Students Raise Money For Wounded Veterans

CONTRIBUTEDRecently, Mark MacDaniel and Augie Mantone held a dress down day at St. Joseph School in Shelton in support of wounded veterans.

The two fourth grade students also organized a bake sale at their school and sold camouflage wristbands and camouflage pencils in support of wounded veterans.

Mark and Augie, along with the students and faculty of St. Joseph School, raised $300 from their dress down day and from the proceeds from the bake sale.

The boys are seen in this picture with Al Meadows from Operation Gift Cards and Victoria Rossi, the school’s principal.

Operation Gift Cards had made 107 visits to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland while delivering over $800,000 in post exchange gift certificates and corporate donations to wounded troops and their families.
