Shelton Summer Reading Programs

The Shelton Library System is pleased to announce three Summer Reading Programs at both Plumb Memorial Library and Huntington Branch Library for children and teens.

RUBBER DUCKY READING CLUB

Children ages 0 – 4 years old are welcome to participate in this special program for our beginning readers. Complete 6 early literacy activities per monthly log: June, July and August. Upon completion, return the monthly log to either Shelton library to earn a prize and receive the next month’s log. Registration is available in person only at either Shelton library. The program runs from Thursday, May 30, 2019 through Saturday, August 31, 2019.

LOOKING BACK AT OUR PAST AND LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR FUTURE

Children entering Kindergarten through Grade 8 are welcome to join the Summer Reading Program. Children will calculate the amount of time that they read to earn raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes. Every hour that a child reads, they will earn one ticket. Plus those in Grades 5 – 8 can “double dip” by participating in both this and Teen Summer Reading Programs.

TEEN SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Teen entering Grades 5 – 12 are encouraged to join. For every hour that they read, they earn a Golden Ticket and enter for a chance to win weekly prizes. All Golden Tickets will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a Grand Prize.

Registrations for School Aged Summer Reading Programs are available IN PERSON ONLY at both library branches. They begin on June 15, 2019 and end August 2, 2019.
