An 18-year-old Shelton man was accused Friday of being “sexually involved” with a 13-year-old girl.
Ryan J. Tice was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
The arrest comes after an investigation launched in February by Shelton police school resource Officer Brian McPadden, according to a prepared statement from police.
McPadden had “learned a 13-year-old juvenile had been sexually involved with Tice,” according to the statement. Police built a case and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Police would not release more information, saying they wanted to protect the identity of the child.
Tice was released on a $5,000 bond pending an Aug. 3 court date.
