A Shelton teen was ticketed for traveling too fast for the conditions after losing control of his car on Punkup Road in Oxford Sunday.
Police said Nicholas Debenedetto, 18, of Shelton, was driving a 1996 Plymouth Breeze on Punkup Road just north of Little Punkup Road. He lost control of the car on curve, struck an embankment and several rocks before flipping over. The car came to rest in the opposite direction it was traveling.
Debenedetto had two passengers in the car, one of whom suffered minor cuts. The crash happened shortly after 12 a.m.
