Throughout the run toward a second straight CIAC Class LL girls soccer championship, the Westhill defense had been an impenetrable force.
On Friday night the Vikings finally ran into the one player who was able to solve it.
Alex Farley’s perfectly placed set piece from 20 yards out in the 41st minute held up as Shelton earned its first state championship with a 1 – 0 victory at Norwalk High School.
