The Shelton Youth Cheerleaders competed at the American Youth Cheer (AYC) Connecticut State Cheer Competition this past weekend!
Amazing performances by all teams were seen as they took the mats.
Results:
- D14 (8th grade) – 1st Place
- D12 Blue (6th/7th grade) – 1st Place, Grand Champs, Best Stunting, Best Tumbling
- D12 Large (5th/6th) – 1st Place, Best Dance
- D12 Small (7th) – 2nd Place
- D10 – (3rd/4th grade) 3rd Place, and Best Tumbling
- D10 Exhibition & D12 Exhibition – Great Performances!
Twenty-six towns throughout Connecticut competed, including Ansonia, Bridgeport, Monroe, Newtown, Norwalk, Oxford, Wallingford, and Waterbury.
Their next competition is the AYC New England Regionals, Sunday, Nov. 22 at the Mullins Center at UMASS, Amherst where they will compete against teams from Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Winners will then move onto Nationals in Florida Dec. 12 and Dec. 13.
