A group of Shelton High School students will be live tweeting their experiences watching the Space Shuttle Endeavour launch.
The students will be at Kennedy Space Center in Florida Friday to watch the launch because the space shuttle is carrying their science experiment onboard.
They are tweeting under the user name @SPS_SVoMC.
The five seniors proposed a science experiment — “Development of Prokaryotic Cell Walls in Microgravity” — as part of the national Student Spaceflight Experiments Program.
Their experiment looks at bacteria growth and its affect on cell walls in the gravity aboard the shuttle versus the gravity on earth.
The students involved in the project are Leann Misencik, Kayla Russo, Jason Shnipes, Omar Sobh and James Szabo, under the direction of the high school’s science department chair, Mary Clark. Click here to read a CT Tech Junkie story on the project.
Check out the chat box below. Whenever they Tweet, we’ll automatically import it into the chat. Article continues below.
The Shelton project was among 16 projects across the country selected to bring on the space shuttle flight. Students from each of the selected projects across the country will also be tweeting their experiences, with the hash tag #ssep.
