Six people were charged with driving under the influence over the Memorial Day weekend, including four people who were arrested at sobriety checkpoints.
A total of 1,034 motorists passed through the checkpoints on Friday.
The four motorists charged with driving under the influence were:
- Thomas Kapitan, 31, of Ansonia
- Linda Dapp, 59, of Derby
- James Pluff, 28, of Shelton
- Michael Berescik, 26, of Shelton
In addition, Shelton’s patrol division made two additional DUI arrests on Sunday, separate from the checkpoints.
- James Hall, 22, of Shelton, was charged with DUI and operating with a suspended license.
- Nisa Malick, 20, of Shelton, was charged with DUI.
Hall was released on a $1,000 bond.
The other five were released on a $500 bond.
All six are due in Superior Court on June 10.
