Slots Open For Valley Leadership 2009

The Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Valley United Way and the Valley Council of Health & Human Service Organizations are currently seeking 15 individuals in corporate, non-profit and government organizations for their Leadership Greater Valley Class of 2009.

Leadership Greater Valley combines leadership skill building with community education. 

During the nine-week program, participants get a bird’s eye view of the issues facing the community, begin developing the leadership skills necessary to assume leadership roles and are exposed to involvement opportunities in the community. 

The class is limited to 15 selected individuals and those who will have the personal opportunity to learn from the leaders of many local organizations and associations.

During eight information-packed sessions, beginning on Thursday, Sept. 17 and ending on Nov, 12, Leadership Greater Valley participants are given a comprehensive overview of the economic, social and political challenges facing the lower Naugatuck River Valley. 

In addition, they are introduced to the theories and practices of leadership through academic workshops, panel discussions, site visits and team building exercises.

The Greater Valley Chamber, Valley United Way and the VCHHSO are seeking a maximum of 15 individuals who have exhibited leadership potential to participate in this unique and highly interactive program that is guaranteed to inform, inspire, and cultivate the next generation of civic and community leaders in the Valley region.

Applications are being accepted through Monday, Sept 14. 

Tuition is $495 per person ($350 per person non-profit/additional attendees).
