SHELTON — Valley Shakespeare Festival will be presenting its annual Dickens classic; “A Christmas Carol” at the Plumb Memorial Public Library at 65 Wooster Street in Shelton on Friday, December 16th at 7 pm and Saturday, December 17th at 1 pm.
“A Christmas Carol”, adapted for the event by Valley Shakespeare Festival’s Executive/Artistic Director Tom Simonetti, who this year will play all 25 memorable characters…from the squeezing, scraping,
grasping, wrenching Ebenezer Scrooge to the young endearing Tiny Tim in a memorable tour-de-force of theater.
After two years of not performing at the Plumb Memorial Library, Tom Simonetti, founder says “It feels like a return to home.” “It was in that reading room where I introduced myself to Shakespeare and Dickens’ greatest works of literature.”
“The community should be very happy with the beautiful job that Joan Stokes and her staff have done in cleaning and renovating the Library to make it more welcoming and returning it to its original glory as a meeting place.”
The Plumb Library is delighted to welcome Tom and the Valley Shakespeare Festival back and to continue the tradition of presenting this classic in their Reading Room.
The performances are free of charge, but donations for ValleyShakespeare are accepted. Valley Shakespeare Festival is a federally-certified non-profit theatre company based in Shelton.
As seating is limited, registration is required and can be done by calling the Plumb Memorial Library at (203) 924‑1580 ext 5102 or visiting our website at sheltonlibrarysystem.org.
