The Oxford Historical Society will sponsor its 7th Annual Spring Cleaning Tag Sale on Friday, June 18, from 5 – 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, June 19, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The sale will be held at the Oxford Grange on Route 67 in Oxford.
At the same time on Saturday, the Oxford Grange is holding a tag sale and selling refreshments in the building basement.
Donations for the Historical Society Sale may be dropped off Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 15, 16, and 17 from 4 – 8 p.m. No clothing, shoes, magazines, heavy furniture or machinery will be accepted.
A limited number of spaces 8 feet in width will be available outside the Grange for individuals wishing to hold their own tag sales. Spaces may be reserved in advance on a first come, first served basis by contacting Nancy Farnum at (203) 888‑0230. The cost for each is $15.
Proceeds from the sale will go towards restoring the Twitchell-Rowland Homestead, a 1755 saltbox which the Society moved to a new location on Towner Lane in 2006. Work is underway to renovate the building for use as a museum of local history and a meeting place.
