The Derby school district is looking to replace two key staffers.
Pamela Mangini, the district’s business manager, is leaving Oct. 28.
She is taking a position at Regional School District 13, which includes schools in Durham and Middlefield.
In Derby, Mangini played a key role in preparing a spending plan for the school district — in addition to tracking how money was being spent.
She was hired in 2009 and was paid $99,840 during the 2010 – 2011 school year.
“It is a big loss. She has been a great colleague and a fine business leader for the last few years,” School Superintendent Stephen Tracy said. “She’s highly competent, very reliable and very hard working.”
The Derby Board of Education has hired Art Poole to come aboard as an interim business manager. He is a retired school business administrator who was brought on board for a few weeks just before Mangini was hired in 2009.
Poole will be working from Oct. 26 until Dec. 31. He will be paid $550 per day and he will work four days a week. He will not receive benefits.
Tracy said the school will be posting an advertisement shortly looking for a permanent replacement.
Brian Dunnuck, the school district’s Information Technology manager, left the district last week for a private sector job.
Tracy said school officials haven’t decided how they’ll replace Dunnuck.
The district may hire a replacement — or the district may look to outsource the job to a third party, such as ACES or a private company, Tracy said.
Dunnuck was paid $59,740 during the 2010 – 2011 school year.
