State police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who broke into a home in Oxford Tuesday.
In a prepared statement, Trooper Kelly Grant said about 2:30 p.m., a Naples Lane resident called police saying a man was inside his home.
The resident wasn’t in the home at the time, Grant said — he saw the burglar on a surveillance camera set up in the residence.
The footage showed the man carrying a pillowcase out of the resident’s bedroom with “unknown items” inside.
The man then left the home.
Cops responded to the scene and discovered the burglar got into the home through the back door.
“It appears that the suspect forced entry into the residence by using a screwdriver or small pry bar,” Grant’s statement said.
State police released the photo above from the surveillance footage.
In a Facebook post, state cops said the suspect may have been driving an “older model” Toyota Camry or Honda Accord.
They asked that anyone with information about the suspect or the burglary to contact the Oxford Resident Trooper’s Office at 203 – 888-4353.
