OXFORD — State police released the names of two people whose bodies were found inside a charred SUV on Roosevelt Drive on May 30.
Their names:David J. Rivera, 36, and Carlos O. Calderon, 39.
Rivera was killed by a gunshot to the head, The Connecticut Post reported. Calderon’s cause of death hasn’t been determined, according to the Post.
Both men are from Hartford, according to a written statement from state police.
The families of both men were notified.
No other details were released in the case, which originated when the fire department was sent to the scene of a vehicle fire at 4:10 a.m.
The first firefighters on scene reported a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. The initial radio dispatch reported that the vehicle was on the shoulder of Roosevelt Drive’s eastbound lane, near a gate that marks off property owned by First Light, the company that owns the nearby Stevenson Dam.
