SHELTON — A 32-year-old woman from Bridgeport was struck and killed by a vehicle on Route 8 overnight.
Police said the woman had pulled off to the side of the highway in the area of the exit 13 ramp northbound.
Meanwhile, a Beacon Falls man was driving north in a 2008 BMW passenger vehicle.
“For reasons unknown, the (woman) exited the vehicle and was in the right lane of travel,” according to an accident information summary released by state police.
The BMW struck both the woman and her vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The BMW driver was not injured. It happened just after midnight Jan. 18.
No charges have been filed. State police are asking anyone with information to call Trooper Daniel McCue at 203 393 4200.
