A Stratford man sustained a serious leg injury after a motorcycle crash on Pershing Drive Wednesday night.
According to information from the Ansonia Police Department, Danie Coe, 45, was on his motorcycle heading north on Pershing Drive when a motorist traveling south made a left turn into the CVS parking lot and hit Coe.
The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m.
An initial radio dispatch from the scene reported that Coe’s leg was nearly amputated in the crash.
He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital on a trauma alert. Police said he is expected to pull through.
The motorist was identified as Barbara Valenti, 57, of Derby. She was given a ticket for failing to grant the right of way.
