Students Plant Tree In Memorium Of Beloved Teacher

St. Mary- St. Michael School’s fifth grade class planted a flowering cherry tree in front of the school in memory of their beloved teacher, Mrs. Roberta Anton, who passed away in May after a valiant fight against cancer.

The children presented this idea after her passing and the tree was donated by Phil Marcucio of Marcucio Garden Center on New Haven Avenue in Derby.

After the tree planting, the children ate pie in memory of their math teacher who celebrated Pi Day” each May 14th in their math class.
