Students Say Shelton Prom Dress Code Is Repressive

Shelton High School was abuzz Friday with news that the school’s headmaster was enforcing a dress code to keep girls covered.

The goal was to limit two-piece outfits and dresses that exposed backs and midriffs.

School administrators said they learned of some outfits that were over the line and simply decided to remind students of the already-existing rules.

Some students pointed out it was too late to buy new dresses since the prom date is so close — and they took their case to TV news.
