Derby police have identified a suspect in last month’s mugging of a 91-year-old woman on Chatfield Street, the Valley Independent Sentinel has learned.
Charges have yet to be filed.
Police plan to file an arrest warrant application soon.
The suspect may also be tied into an investigation into several local burglaries, including some in Shelton.
On May 3, a 91-year-old woman was knocked to the ground and had her purse stolen on Chatfield Street, a heavily-traveled road near Osbornedale State Park and the Ryan Athletic Complex.
The victim told police at the time she was robbed by a woman.
The senior citizen, whose name was not released, suffered scrapes and bruises as a result of the fall.
