State police have released photographs of a man who allegedly tried to rob the Mobil station on Route 67 in Oxford Wednesday night.
They are asking the public to call State Police in Oxford at (203) 888‑4353 with any information they may have about the incident.
The suspect entered the store at the gas station just after 8 p.m. Wednesday and indicated he had a weapon.
Oxford Resident State Trooper Sgt. Daniel Semosky said no weapon was actually displayed during the attempted hold-up.
Customers entering the store scared the suspect away, Semosky said.
“It was a very busy time and there were a lot of customers coming in and out,” Semosky said.
The suspect left the scene without any money and no one was injured.
Police are seeking a white male in his late teens to early 20s.
He was wearing an oversized baseball cap, a large red T‑shirt and long striped shorts.
