"Take Your Child To The Library" Day At Ansonia Library Feb. 1

ANSONIA – On Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, the Ansonia Library will celebrate the International Take Your Child to the Library Day. Now in its 14th year, this annual event is a wonderful opportunity for children to have fun while parents and caregivers learn more about their library. Take Your Child to the Library Day will showcase all the free resources local public libraries provide for families.

This year, the library is celebrating with Ice Cream for Breakfast from 9:30 – 10:30 AM (while supplies last). Kick-off Take Your Child to the Library Day with a scoop of ice cream for breakfast! This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Ansonia Library. There is no registration required for this event.

Then, Craig Norton from Positive Vibrations will be taking participants of all ages on a musical journey centered around traditional songs from diverse cultures. The interactive experience includes stories, songs, and dances from Native American, African, Caribbean, and Latin traditions. Please visit the Ansonia Library’s website at ansonialibrary.org to register for this program, or to learn more about upcoming programs the library offers.

The Ansonia Library helps families build solid foundations of literacy and love of learning by providing access to books, early literacy storytimes, technology, homework help, online resources, fun, safe spaces, and more. Over 1,000 libraries will participate in Take Your Child to the Library Day this year. To see all the 2025 participating libraries, visit takeyourchildtothelibrary.org.
