Teamsters Endorse Rochelle In 104th District

Kara Rochelle, candidate for the 104th House District representing Ansonia and Derby, has received the endorsement of Teamsters Local 677.

Teamsters 677 represents approximately 2400 men and women at more than 67 Employers throughout Connecticut. Members of Local 677 cover almost every profession imaginable, from warehouse workers to truck drivers, UPS drivers to waste water treatment professionals, office clerical to skilled maintenance employees, mechanics to bus drivers, sales men and women to public works employees, school lunch personnel to construction workers and custodians. If you can think of an occupation, there is probably a Local 677 member performing that job somewhere in our Region.

In the 104th, Teamsters 677 represent Ansonia Public Works and Board of Education employees, and our public school cafeteria workers and custodians.

Teamsters 677 has been instrumental in ensuring that our local residents and workers are receiving dignified compensation, benefits, and working environments.

Local 677 was first organized in 1935. They were chartered by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in 1940 and since their inception they have evolved into a diverse and dynamic Local, changing and adapting as conditions demand.

Teamsters 677 plays a key role in ensuring that our workers here in Ansonia and people across the state are getting a fair shake. I am proud to stand with these members and can assure that I will be an advocate for their needs. We build the middle class and a better way of life for our residents in the valley and across CT when we stand with our union members. I want to thank the members of Teamsters 677 for recognizing my commitment to building a better future for working class people.” Kara Rochelle

To date Rochelle has also received endorsements from Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, State Representative Linda Gentile, former State Representative Vincent Tonucci, AFSCME, AFT, CWA, SEIU, Connecticut’s Working Families Party and the Connecticut AFL-CIO.
