An 18-year-old woman was injured while using a rope swing on the Derby side of the Housatonic River Sunday.
The woman’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The woman, whose name was not available, was using the rope swing with friends when she landed in shallow water.
A passing boater helped the woman, who slipped in and out of consciousness immediately after the accident.
A boat from Storm Ambulance and Rescue took the woman to Mattei’s Marina on Roosevelt Drive. She was taken by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital.
The rope swing is accessible by a foot path through the woods off Roosevelt Drive, west of the marina.
The accident happened at about 6:40 p.m.
People are injured on the rope swing at least once a summer.
Last summer the Valley Indy watched as Derby and Shelton crews trained for water rescues at the rope swing.
