Teen, Woman Charged In Shelton Assault

A woman and a boy were arrested Wednesday for allegedly knocking on the door of a Shelton woman and then attacking her.

Police said they received a call from a woman on Howe Avenue at about 12 p.m.

The woman told police that someone knocked on her door claiming to be a Derby police officer. The woman was then assaulted after opening the door, police said.

The victim identified the suspect as 32-year-old Stacey Alberino of East Haven — the ex-wife of the victim’s current boyfriend, police said. A 14-year-old boy who was with Alberino was also arrested. Police didn’t release his name or explain his relation to the woman.

Alberino is charged with third-degree assault, first-degree burglary and risk of injury to a minor. She’s due in court Nov. 29.

The 14-year-old was charged with impersonating a police officer, third-degree assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and first-degree burglary.
