The two men arrested for loitering at Seymour High School this month have been identified by police as Kenneth Petroski and John Damjanovich.
Both 18 and from Seymour, the two were caught early in the morning of July 12, about 4:11 a.m. at the high school, according to police.
Each was charged with loitering in or about a school and possession of burglar’s tools, both misdemeanors.
The men posted $500 bonds each and were released after their arrests. They are scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Derby Aug. 23.
A Seymour police officer responding to the high school the morning police said Petroski and Damjanovich were caught there crashed his police car on West Church Street.
That accident, involving Officer John Martin, is still under investigation, Lt. Paul Satkowski said Thursday.
The report on the crash has not yet been completed, Satkowski said, adding that there would “more than likely” be an Internal Affairs probe since the accident involved property damage — to the police cruiser itself and a nearby mailbox.
The teens’ arrests happened during a recent vandalism spree, including the theft of the “Wildcat Way” sign near the school’s entrance on Botsford Road less than a month after it was installed.
