SEYMOUR — Readers raised $13,794 for The Valley Indy during The Great Give May 5 and May 6. The money goes toward The Valley Indy’s operational budget.
The Valley Indy has three grants pending in order to keep publishing in 2021. Donations are still being accepted at Donate.ValleyIndy.org.
Last month The Valley Indy received a $5,000 grant for COVID-19 coverage from The Facebook Journalism Project.
Sponsored posts and ValleyIndy.org “PosterWall” ads are available for $99 a week. Sponsorships are also available for “Navel Gazing: The Valley Indy Podcast.”
Overall $3.5 million was raised for area nonprofits during The Great Give, a 36-hour online fundraiser that ended 8 p.m. May 6.
The Valley Indy conducted hourly live interviews during The Great Give from 8 a.m. until 12 a.m. on day one, and from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on day two.
