Seymour Memorial Day Parade
11:30 a.m.
Seymour Congregational Church will be serving free hot dogs and drinks to the Seymour Community at the parade from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Visit the front lawn of the church for some fellowship and food!

Seymour Historical Society Presents Civil War Encampment
1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Come learn about the lives of Union soldiers in the Civil War as re-enactors from the 14th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, Company F set up camp on the Seymour Historical Society grounds.
The original Company F saw action from September 1862 until the end of the Civil War, and fought at Antietam and Gettysburg.
$3 donation ($5 per couple) kindly requested

Ansonia Memorial Day Parade
2 p.m.
Parade starts at Nolan Field on Wakelee Avenue, and then proceeds to the Big Y Shopping Plaza on Main Street. Contact Post Finance Officer, Pat Henri, for further details at 203 – 734-1851.

Derby/Shelton Annual Memorial Service
7:30 p.m.
The service honors all veterans who passed away from Derby and Shelton since last Memorial Day. Guest speaker is Colonel Robert Cody from the Connecticut Army National Guard, a Shelton native. Families who lost a veteran in the past year are invited to attend and are presented with a flower of remembrance as a roll call of the deceased is conducted.

Fourth Annual 5K Freedom Run, Two-Mile Fitness Walk and Kids Rock Hopper Fun Run

Awards and festivities to kick-off Oxford’s Memorial Day Parade. Proceeds benefit local veterans’ organizations.

Derby/Shelton Memorial Day Parade
9 a.m., rain or shine
Starts in Shelton at Howe and Wharf Streets and continues to Kneen St. The parade then goes right on Coram Ave., right on White St., right on Howe Ave. Rte 110, left onto Bridge St. Rte 712. The parade crosses into Derby turning right on Main St. Rte 34, left on Elizabeth St., and concludes past Cottage St. The parade stops briefly on the Bridge St. bridge for a short ceremony. A wreath will dropped into the water in memory of all veterans lost at sea. A flyover by the Connecticut National Guard concludes this ceremony. Please note that a parking ban will be in effect from 6 a.m. until the conclusion of the parade in both Shelton and Derby. Cars on the parade route and line-up are will be towed after 6 a.m.

Begins at the Little River Shopping Plaza near Route 67 and continues to Town Hall.
