Herbie Rollinson Memorial Walk for the Boys & Girls Club, LNV.
Registration begins at 10 a.m., the walk starts at 11 a.m. Walkers will be provided lunch courtesy of Outback Steakhouse. 
Prizes for Top Individual and Top Team will be awarded. Car show also being held.

SOUPSTOCK Music & Arts Festival
10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Soupstock is the annual fundraising event for the Mary A. Schmecker Turtle Shell Fund, a charity fund in its third year which furthers art, crafts and music education throughout children and young adults.

Car Wash Fundraiser In Derby
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Derby Middle School Cross Country Team is raising funds for Project Purple with a car wash at the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital in Derby. 
All funds raised are going towards a fund recently established at Griffin Hospital by Project Purple to go towards helping patients and families hit by pancreatic cancer. 
This is one of the many events in the next couple of weeks that the team is participating in to raise funds for Project Purple.

Connecticut State Park Open House Day
Twelve state park museums and historic sites will be free on Saturday, June 9, 2012 as part of the 8th Annual Connecticut Open House Day. The Osborne Homestead Museum in Derby is one of the sites open to the public, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Ansonia Rescue Medical Services in conjunction with Ansonia Civil Defense Rescue Association will be sponsoring a Bus Trip to Mohegan Sun Casino. 
Donation of $35.00 includes coach bus transportation to and from the casino, a $15.00 food/retail voucher and a $15.00 gambling voucher. 
The bus will pick up at 3:45 p.m. at the West Main Street Municipal Lot and Depart Mohegan Sun Terminal at 10 p.m.

Benefit Craft Fair and Tag Sale for Nayelis Rivera
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Nayelis Rivera battled AML Acute Myloid Leukemia. On May 5, 2012 Nayelis received her angel wings in Heaven. 
This Craft Fair and Community Tag Sale is to benefit Nayelis Rivera’s family. 
There will be activities for kids, as well as crafts, jewelry, plants, gourmet coffee, pampered chef, bounceroo and so much more!
Each table is $30 and will go directly to the family. Space is 10 X 10.
12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., there will be a ZUmba class for $5 by Studio V Fitness of Shelton, which will go to the family. 
1:30 p.m. balloon launch in honor of Nayelis.
