Get acquainted with our park’s trail system and the extension onto adjacent state forest land. 
Join naturalist/guide Alison Rubelmann for an educational and entertaining hike to identify nature along the way. 
Explore the Raptor Woods trail and beyond. 
Dress for hiking: sturdy shoes, long pants and sleeves, and water are recommended for this 2‑mile hike over moderate terrain.

Pomperaug Trail
Join members of the Oxford Land Trust as we hike along a 2.3‑mile section of the CFPA Blue-Blazed Pomperaug Trail. 
Part of the Housatonic Greenway, this trail traverses scenic hills along the Housatonic River passing old charcoal pits, small waterfalls, and ledge outcroppings. Beautiful New England forest!
Wear good hiking shoes, and bring beverage, snacks-lunch, and bug repellant.
A round trip of 4.6 miles is optional. 
Meet leaders Peter Petrochko and Karl Gabor at the far end of the Jackson’s Cove parking area at the end of Jackson Cove Road.

Five mile round trip, 300-foot elevation gain, steady but not steep climb up from the Housatonic River to Shelton Lakes.

Admire the paper flower sculptures on display inside the environmental center with Artist Rachael Miller and then participate in a 1‑mile nature walk for early summer blooms. 
Meet leaders Susan Quincy and Susan Robinson at the Kellogg Environmental Center (500 Hawthorne Avenue) before 3:00 PM to see special floral sculptures and meet the artist prior to the hike, which will start from the building.
