City Officials To Prepare Budget
DERBY — The board of apportionment and taxation will meet in the city hall Monday night at the usual hour and the officials will engage in the work of preparing the budget of expenses and receipts for the new year of 1929.

Put Return Addresses On Christmas Mail
DERBY — Post Master Walter H. DeForest wishes to call the attention of the public to the importance of putting the return address on all Christmas mail.

City Officials To Pay Tribute
ANSONIA — Many city officials are expected to attend the funeral of James T. Smith, president of the board of assessors who died early Tuesday morning.

State Commissioner Of Motor Vehicles Buys Cadillac
SHELTON — Judge John N. Sinsanaugh, local dealer for Cadillac and LaSalle motor cars, delivered yesterday a five-passenger custom Cadillac sedan to Robbins B. Stoekel, commissioner of motor vehicles in the state of Connecticut.

Thieves Take Eggs And Other Things
ANSONIA — Seventeen fresh eggs were stolen from the grocery store of William Matta, 27 Crescent St., last night. With the eggs went cigars, cigarettes and other things, the value of the entire loot being nearly $150.

Pinky Silverberg To Sail To London
ANSONIA — Pinky Silverberg, popular flyweight boxer of this city, will leave in a period of about 10 days for London, England where his manager has already booked three fights.

Police Commissioners To Tackle Traffic Problems
ANSONIA — A number of changes in the traffic regulations are looked for when the police commissioners act on the request of the aldermen for better control of traffic at the foot of Foundry hill.

Smashed Machine Found By Police
DERBY — A gambling device believed to have been stolen from a local store sometime Sunday night was found by police behind a building on Elizabeth Street.

SEYMOUR — Joe Morsicato, fullback and captain of Seymour high school’s team, was named in the backfield of the All-Housatonic League.

Streets Indicate Years’ Hard Work
SHELTON — If reappointed, and there seems to be every indication that he will be, Nicholas Wakelee will begin his fifth year as street commissioner.
