Three Students Arrested For Shelton Bomb Threats

Shelton police have arrested three students for their alleged role in two separate bomb threats at the Shelton High School and Shelton Intermediate School this month.

The high school was evacuated and dismissed early on Oct. 21 after police found a note that mentioned a bomb threat in it. The threat was unsubstantiated.

Two students were charged Thursday for the incident. The 16-year-old and 17-year-old female were charged with falsely reporting an incident, conspiracy to falsely report an incident and breach of peace.

Their names were not released because they are minors.

The day after the high school bomb threat, there was a bomb threat at the Shelton Intermediate School, causing an evacuation of all the students.

Police continue to investigate that incident, and have not made any arrests for it yet. The incident was also considered a hoax.

Then on Thursday, Oct. 28, there was a second bomb threat at the Intermediate School, police said. School officials and police were able to quickly determine the student who wrote the note and that it was a false statement, according to a press release issued Oct 28.

Police charged a 12-year-old female student with falsely reporting an incident, and breach of peace. Her name also was not released.

All three incidents were investigated by the youth officer, the school resource officer and Shelton detectives.
