The brand new, high performance Chatfield-LoPresti Elementary School opened this past September, welcoming all of the children from the former Chatfield and LoPresti school districts.
In October 2008 the taxpayers of Seymour approved the combining of two schools to do a renovate as new and addition to the former Paul E. Chatfield Elementary School at a 60 percent reimbursement rate from the state.
Officials are hosting a dedication of the school for everyone in the community to visit and enjoy a self-guided tour – with committee members present to answer questions or point the way – on Sunday, October 14th at 4 p.m.
There will be light refreshments available, and the public is welcome to walk around both outside and inside the school at their leisure to see what their generous vote has afforded the children.
