Here’s something you might not know about Derby Superintendent of Schools Stephen Tracy:
He and his wife, Mary, raise goats.
Dozens of goats.
They brought three newly born goats to Derby from their home farm in Goshen Tuesday so the city’s kindergarten students could meet and touch the soft little guys.
Bradley School Principal Christine DiGrazia said the experience was a great way for students — many of whom had never seen a baby goat before — to learn something new.
The goats — “Treasure,” “Clyde” and “Winter” — ran around under a pavilion behind Bradley School Tuesday morning.
Students got a chance to feed the baby goats from a bottle.
Mary Tracy said the couple makes goats milk and cheese, but don’t sell it. They also have llamas, a horse and chickens on their farm.
