The Derby Board of Aldermen will meet Tuesday (Dec. 8) at 6 p.m. to discuss the future of the Pine Street transfer station.
Annex Associates, the private company hired by the city last year to operate the business, has until Dec. 12 to vacate the premises.
The state Labor Relations Board ordered Annex out, ruling Derby violated contractual obligations with union Local 1303-006, Council 4 by not having the union approve an extension of the city’s contract with Annex.
A copy of the decision is posted below.
Derby, after firing two union Department of Public Works members, brought in Annex, saying the company was cheaper, more efficient and brought in more money.
After the decision came down last week, Alderman Ken Hughes said the city is considering whether to shut down the transfer station.
Tuesday’s meeting is in City Hall at 1 Elizabeth St.
